Packers Reject Return of Ex-Receiver Who Joined Bears and Criticized Locker Room
Green Bay, WI – September 3, 2025
As NFL rosters take shape heading into Week 1, one former Green Bay Packers wide receiver tried to make his way back to the team that originally drafted him. His request, however, was quickly turned down.
The 27-year-old wideout spent two seasons in Green Bay before signing with the rival Chicago Bears. Recently, he contacted the Packers to ask for a workout opportunity, but sources indicate the front office refused without hesitation.

The decision was about more than just football. After leaving Green Bay, the receiver publicly described the Packers as “a disconnected locker room with no unity,” remarks that not only angered fans but also lingered within the organization at 1265 Lombardi Avenue.
His time in Chicago never took off. He showed glimpses of potential during the preseason but was released in the final round of cuts. Seeking a comeback, he reached out to Green Bay, hoping for a chance to close the circle. Instead, the door was firmly shut.
Among fans, the response was clear. On forums and social media, many praised the team’s stance. One supporter posted on X: “If you call this team divided, you don’t get to wear green and gold again.”
Statistically, the receiver’s career has been modest: 22 games played, 13 catches, and a stint on injured reserve due to a knee injury. But for the Packers, this decision wasn’t about stats — it was about loyalty and culture.
By denying the request, general manager Brian Gutekunst signaled that the Packers are committed to a young, cohesive group of receivers. For a franchise built on unity and tradition, some bridges, once burned, simply aren’t rebuilt.
