Young 49ers Star Scammed Out of $1 Million in Levi’s Stadium Parking Lot Scheme, Later Realizing the Land Was Managed by the City of Santa Clara and "Never for Sale"
San Francisco, September 12, 2025 – A shocking story has stirred the Bay Area: Brock Purdy, the young quarterback and centerpiece of the San Francisco 49ers, has become the victim of a financial scam, losing nearly $1 million.
According to sources, Purdy was drawn into an investment project to build a private parking lot near Levi’s Stadium. The idea sounded extremely compelling: with tens of thousands of fans scrambling for parking spaces each game, the group of “investors” promised it would be a “goldmine” within just a few seasons.
The project was promoted with all the amenities: a tailgate area, electric vehicle charging stations, and even a VIP section for season ticket holders. Believing this was a golden opportunity to double his wealth, Purdy agreed to invest $1 million—a sum nearly equivalent to his entire annual salary under his rookie contract.
But the truth was soon exposed: the land is under the management of the city of Santa Clara, never for sale, and the company had no building permits. The project office was merely a post office box, and the “leaders” had vanished without a trace.

Adding to the bitterness, the incident occurred just as Purdy suffered an injury and is expected to be sidelined for 5 weeks, making him even more of a focal point. A teammate revealed that Purdy confided to a close friend: “I thought this was a smart way to plan for my future. They promised to double the money in just one season, I believed them, even bragged to my family. Now I’ve lost a million dollars and have to sit out games. If only I had focused on football.”
When asked, head coach Kyle Shanahan shook his head: “We want our players to be fully focused on the field, not getting caught up in risky investment schemes.”
On social media, 49ers fans quickly mocked the situation: “First, QB1 gets injured, now we’ve lost a parking lot too. Truly a streak of bad luck engulfing San Francisco.”
